Agent playbook

Know the moment they open it

Every open, click, and reply lands in the Mixmax Live Feed — part of Signals — as it happens, across every email you send with Mixmax, sequence or not. Point your agent at that feed and ask it who moved.

Getting started

  1. Connect the Mixmax MCP server to your agent — one URL and a sign-in. Setup instructions.
  2. Ask what’s happened with your outreach today, and watch the feed come back.
  3. Send something that matters, then check back an hour later and ask who engaged.
  4. Before you plan next week, ask for engagement by account — and give Monday to the accounts that are warmest.

Who opened or clicked anything I sent yesterday?

Paste it into Claude or ChatGPT once your agent is connected. Set that up here.

Before and after

What changes

The old way: Refresh your inbox and hope something moved
The Mixmax way: Ask what happened while you were in meetings
The old way: Spot an open days later, long after the moment passed
The Mixmax way: Ask who opened in the last hour and reply before they move on
The old way: Walk into a call guessing whether they read anything
The Mixmax way: Pull their full engagement history before you dial
The old way: Scroll a month of threads to work out who went cold
The Mixmax way: Ask for engagement by account and read it in one list

Real-life scenarios

The 20-minute window

The situation. You were in back-to-back meetings until noon. Someone opened your email 20 minutes ago. Follow up now and you get a reply; follow up tomorrow and you get silence.

What happens. Ask what moved while you were heads-down. The answer leads with the threads that are still warm, newest first.

Why it matters. Timing does the work no clever subject line can.

Know what they’ve read before the call

The situation. You’re five minutes from a call and you can’t remember whether the prospect ever opened the deck you sent last week.

What happens. Name the contact and their whole history comes back in order — every open, every click, every reply.

Why it matters. You start the call knowing whether to recap or skip ahead, instead of spending 10 minutes finding out.

Check the link before you bring it up

The situation. You’re about to walk a prospect through the pricing you sent on Tuesday. You are fairly sure they read it. Fairly sure.

What happens. You name the email and the agent tells you which links were clicked, which were ignored, and how many times.

Why it matters. You stop building the next five minutes of the call on an assumption.

Which accounts have gone quiet

The situation. You are carrying 30 open accounts, with no sense of which ones are still reading you. The account that went dark looks exactly like the one that never opened anything.

What happens. You ask for engagement by account across everything you’ve sent with Mixmax this month. The answer separates the accounts still opening and clicking from the ones that stopped.

Why it matters. You spend Monday on the accounts still paying attention, instead of spreading it evenly across all 30.

Frequently asked questions

How current is the activity my agent sees?

Live Feed records opens, clicks, and replies as they happen, so recent activity is already there. Ask who’s engaged in the last hour and you get the last hour, not yesterday’s summary.

Is this the same as asking who replied to a sequence?

Related, but not the same. This covers anything you sent with Mixmax, whether or not it was part of a cadence. The sequences playbook reads replies in the context of a cadence — which stage they came from, and what that says about the sequence.

Can my agent act on what it finds, or only report it?

Reading the feed is one playbook. The same connection lets your agent add a contact to a sequence or create a follow-up task, covered in the sequences and tasks playbooks. So “who opened this” can become “follow up with them” without you switching tools.
