What is an MCP Server?

MCPs are just like APIs - they are integrations that connect your key tools and data with your favorite AI platforms, such as ChatGPT and Claude. But, there are two key differences between an MCP and an API, and you’ll love both:

  1. MCPs are purpose-built for AI. Unlike APIs which serve as basic connectors between tools, MCPs are designed to not only share data with your AI tool, but also give it key context into how the data is structured and how to use it. It’s akin to giving someone a goldmine and a map of exactly where to dig.
  2. No coding required.   APIs can be daunting for the non-technical.   MCPs are super-easy.  You just need to know the url of the MCP server you’re connecting to, and you’re good to go. Once connected, there’s no additional configuration to negotiate.  You just connect and begin prompting your AI tool with your questions and tasks.

What are Mixmax MCP skills?

We've built six installable skills that customers can add to Claude alongside their Mixmax MCP server connection. Each skill guides Claude through a specific sales workflow: pulling real data from Mixmax and interpreting it through proven sales best practices. They solve two problems at once:

  1. They ensure Claude always uses Mixmax as the source of truth for meeting transcripts, summaries, and sequence data - not Google Calendar or other connected tools.
  2. They embed sales methodology directly into the output - MEDDIC qualification, follow-up cadence timing, sequence benchmarks, objection categorization - so every rep gets coaching-quality analysis, not just raw data.

Connecting from Claude.ai or Claude Desktop

  1. Open Claude and go to the Connectors/Integrations settings.
  2. Click “add custom connector” and enter “https://mcp.mixmax.com/mcp”
  3. You'll be redirected to Mixmax to sign in with your account.
  4. Authorize Claude to access your Mixmax data (read-only).

Connecting from ChatGPT

  2. Search for "Mixmax" or add a custom MCP connection.
