Cookie Policy
Introduction
Your use of the Services is at all times subject to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which incorporate this Cookie Policy. Any terms used here without definition have the meanings given in the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
How We Use Cookies and Your Choices
The Services use cookies and similar technologies such as pixel tags, web beacons, clear GIFs, JavaScript, and local storage (collectively, “Cookies”). Cookies are small files – usually consisting of letters and numbers – placed on your computer, tablet, phone, or similar device when you use that device to visit a Site. Cookies let our servers recognize your browser or device and tell us how and when you visit and use the Services, so we can analyze trends, understand our user base, and improve the Services.
We may combine information collected through Cookies with other Personal Data that we have about you, for example, to tell us who you are or whether you have an account. Where we use Cookies to collect information that is personally identifiable, or that can become personally identifiable if we combine it with other information, the Privacy Policy applies in addition to this Cookie Policy.
When you first visit our website, we display a banner disclosing our use of Cookies and the fact that we share certain data with third parties for advertising, analytics, and marketing. What the banner asks depends on where you are visiting from.
In some places, currently California, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, we do not set non-essential Cookies until you accept them in the banner. You can accept or reject them all, or choose each category separately. We treat you the same way if we cannot tell where you are visiting from.
Everywhere else, including the rest of the United States, by continuing to browse the site after this notice you consent to our use of Cookies as described in this policy, and the banner lets you opt out.
Wherever you are, you can review and change your choices at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our website footer, which lets you opt out of non-essential Cookies and tracking technologies.
We also honor browser-based opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”). When we receive a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data through advertising Cookies, and we display confirmation that your signal has been recognized on the Your Privacy Choices page. GPC applies to the specific browser and device that sends the signal, so you must enable it on every browser you use.
What Types of Cookies Do We Use and For Which Purposes?
1. Essential Cookies
These are required to operate the site and provide features you request, such as logging into secure areas or remembering the cookie choices you have made. They cannot be turned off through our cookie controls. If you block them through your browser settings, parts of the Services may not work.
2. Functionality Cookies
These recognize you when you return to our Services, so we can remember your preferences and personalize content, and they power features such as live chat.
3. Analytical/Performance Cookies
These help us understand how visitors use our site, including the number of visitors, the pages they view, and how long they spend on them, and help us measure the performance of our marketing campaigns.
4. Retargeted Advertising Cookies
These are placed by third parties on your device and may provide those third parties with information about your browsing habits, including your visits to our Services, the pages you have visited, and the links and advertisements you have clicked, so they can identify your interests and serve advertisements that are relevant to you. These Cookies are subject to your opt-out choices and to GPC.
5. Session Cookies and Persistent Cookies
The types of Cookies described above may be “session Cookies,” which are temporary and are only stored on your device while you are visiting our site, or “persistent Cookies,” which remain on your device for a period of time after you leave. We use persistent Cookies to store your preferences so that they are available on your next visit, and to keep a more accurate account of how often you visit our Services, how often you return, and how effective our advertising is. The table below lists how long each persistent Cookie stays on your device.
Who Sets Cookies on Our Site
We use both first-party Cookies (set by Mixmax) and third-party Cookies (set by our vendors). The third parties that may set or receive data through Cookies on our site fall into three categories:
- Analytics providers, who help us measure site traffic and usage. These include Google Analytics, HubSpot, Segment, Amplitude, and Hotjar. Amplitude runs in your browser through our Segment integration. Hotjar records session activity on our website.
- Advertising and retargeting partners, who use Cookies to identify interests and serve and measure relevant advertising. These include Google Ads and Reddit Ads. We also work with identity and enrichment providers, including Common Room and Vector, which help us recognize business visitors to our site. Vector operates on a limited set of commercial pages and shares data with third-party identity resolution partners.
- Social media and content platforms, whose Cookies may be set if you interact with embedded content or links. These include Vimeo, which we run in do-not-track mode so that it does not set its tracking Cookies. We also use functional services that support the site: Intercom for live chat, and RevenueHero for meeting scheduling on our demo page, which may set its own Cookies to route your meeting request.
The Cookies We Use and How Long They Last
The tables below list the Cookies set on our website, grouped by the category you can control through Your Privacy Choices. Where a vendor sets several Cookies with a common prefix, the prefix is shown with an asterisk. We update these tables when our vendors change.

Third Party Analytics
We use third-party analytics services to better understand user engagement with the Services. When you browse or use the Services, these providers may collect your IP address, browser type, and approximate location (based on the IP address). They may also use web logs or web beacons and may set and access Cookies on your device. To refine our understanding of user engagement, we may provide these services with the name and email address collected during account registration.
Managing Cookies
Beyond the controls above, most browsers let you refuse or delete Cookies through their settings. Doing so may prevent you from taking advantage of some of our features, and you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site. For general information about Cookies, including how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org, or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office guidance if you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom.
Your browser may also offer a “Do Not Track” option. Our Services do not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time; we do honor the Global Privacy Control, as described above.
To review or change your choices at any time, visit Your Privacy Choices. If you have any questions about our use of Cookies or about this Cookie Policy, please contact us at privacy@mixmax.com.
